Часть текста: Sofia Margolina was born in 1951 near Moscow. She graduated from Moscow University in 1973 with a degree in biology and worked thereafter in the field of ecology. She has been living in West Berlin since 1986. The idea for the book on Osip Mandel'shtam, which was developed in 1980, is closely connected with the spiritual atmosphere in Moscow at the end of the 1970s, a feeling of emptiness as if time stood still, and a search for moral grounds passed down by significant cultural authorities. Reflecting not only the personal experience of its author, the book “The World View of Osip Mandel'shtam 11 also captures the moral orientation of leading sectors of the 1970s Moscow intelligentsia. Sofia Margolina wurde 1951 in der Nahe von Moskau geboren. Sie studierte an der Moskauer Universitat und schloli mit einer Dissertation im Fach Biofogie ab. Danach arbeitete sie auf okologischem Gebiet. Seit 1986 lebt sie in West-Berlin.
